The Kranjčar Gallery was established in 2006 and it is working since then in the courtyard of one of the bishop’s curia at Kaptol 26. Since its very beginning, besides independent and group exhibitions of the leading Croatian authors of all generations, the Gallery insists on distinctive authorial conceptions. As a part of those conceptions, the Odsutni – Prisutni (Absent – Present) and Mentalni Sklop (Mindset) cycles have been realized.
What is specific about the Kranjčar Gallery is that it is not just a gallery within strict frames. Namely, its program is open for different cultural events with the aim of merging ambiguous aspects of social activity that are, by the market economy, connected with artistic creation in the current cultural and social circumstances, emphasizing the need for communication and education.
