Hrvoje Dumančić was born in Zagreb. He graduated from the School of Applied Arts and Design in Zagreb and continues his education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb (Department of Sculpture), where he graduated in 1998. He has been a member of the Croatian Society of Free Artists and The Society of Equestrian Artists in London since 2010. A year later, he became a member of the International Association of ArAnims in France. He has received many awards and recognitions for his work: first prize for sculpture at the Xe Salon International de Saumur in France in 2002, first prize at Ex Arte Equinus 3 in the USA in 2010, first prize for sculpture at the Horse in Art exhibition in London 2011.
He won a scholarship from the French Institute at La Colombiere in Saumur in 2003 and a scholarship to the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris in 2011. In 2012, as part of the Study Tour, he participated as a guest lecturer at Anadulu University in Eskişehir, Turkey, and participated in an art symposium in Voitsberg, Austria. He is the author of the exhibition of the Sinj Alka Museum in Sinj, in 2015. He is currently studying for a postgraduate degree in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. The main motif of his artistic creation is horses.
