She was born in Zagreb in 1944 in the Kinert family of painters. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1967. She works in many techniques: oil on canvas, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, dry—point, etching, linocut… She presented her works at about eighty independent exhibitions in the country and abroad: Budapest, Cairo, Graz, Kiev, Pécs, Bratislava, Paris, London, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Asbach, Bihać, Sarajevo,

Pittsburgh… In the painting (since 2009), she introduces a dual image called InfraredART — two independent images for the visual and infrared spectrum. Criticisms, essays and studies about Nada Žiljak’s painting are collected on her website. Her pictures were published in seven monographs written by Đura Vanđura, Branka Hlevnjak and Dora Kinert Bučan.
